Access Information

There are a number of payable accessible car parking facilities around the Big Weekend Site. Please note that Manchester City Council parking charges are payable for on-street parking. If you are parking in a privately owned car park (such as NCP) please ensure you have paid and displayed the correct fee. Please click here to find a car park suitable to your needs. Manchester Pride cannot take responsibility for any parking penalties incurred whilst visitors are attending The Big Weekend.

Please note that Sackville Street NCP, Abingdon Street NCP and Bloom Street NCP are unavailable for parking over The Big Weekend as these car parks are used for our performance areas.

Wristband Exchange Points

There are three wristband exchange points around the site. These are located at Gate 2 & Gate 5 which are open Friday and Saturday 10:00 to midnight and Gate 6 which is open 24 hours from Friday 10:00 - Monday 17:00.

Recommended gates for wheelchair access

We recommend accessing the Big Weekend event site from Gates 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. The closest gate to Chorlton Street Car Park is Gate 5 and Bloom Street (Britannia Car Park) is Gate 4. Fees are payable at these car parks. Please note that gates do get busy at peak times, especially straight after the Parade.

Accessible viewing platforms

There are accessible viewing platforms located in the Main Stage Arena and Sackville Gardens primarily for wheelchair users to allow an elevated view over the crowds. These have strict capacity conditions due to the temporary nature of the Viewing Platform structure. Once capacity has been reached, access will be based on a first-come-first served basis. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Please note that priority will be given to wheelchair users.

Accessible toilet facilities

Across the event site there are a number of accessible toilets, including those located on Bloom Street opposite the Dance Arena, in the Main Stage Arena, Sackville Gardens and the Dance Arena itself.

BSL interpreters

British Sign Language interpreters are present on the Main Stage and Sackville Gardens throughout the event. They are usually located on the left of the stages.
